Jill Jackson Blevins O’Malia enjoys an active life as a broadcaster, singer, actor, dancer, and director. Her singing and acting experience go back many years on both professional and amateur stages. Jill studied dance and voice at an early age, which gave her scholarship opportunities at Butler University.
After studying Fine Arts at Butler and traveling the United States as “Miss Indiana”, Jill found herself entertaining in many states as a vocalist, dancer, MC and speaker. Performing with great talents like Ann Margaret, Joey Heatherton, Dean Martin and Bob Hope on his Christmas Show with the troops, was an extremely exciting time. During her reign as “Miss Indiana” she worked in NYC as a photographer’s model in Seventeen and Glamour Magazines, did radio and television commercials and soap opera pilots and sang as a studio vocalist on commercial jingles. Jill has never stopped being passionate about the arts and performance and has continued to be active on stage and in her community. Jill has been fortunate to have played several leading lady roles, including the title roles in HELLO DOLLY, MAME, KISS ME KATE and ANNIE GET YOUR GUN. Some of her other favorite roles include, Maria in THE SOUND OF MUSIC, Mama Rose in GYPSY, Queen Aggravain in ONCE UPON A MATTRESS, Beggar Women in SWEENEY TODD, Agnes in I DO IDO and so many others. She enjoys working with several theater groups including Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre, where she was just seen on stage as their featured vocalist for their New Year’s Eve Celebration. She recently worked with Actors Theatre of Indiana as a leading player in GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING. More recently, Jill helped open the Booth Tarkington Theatre at the Palladium, playing the role of Velma Von Tussle in the Broadway Musical HAIRSPRAY with the Carmel Repertory Theatre. Jill loves listening to and performing Big Band Music! One of her favorite things to do is sing with Scott Lutterman and the Heartland Big Band. She has been singing with this group since 2004 and considers sharing the stage with Scott and his talented musicians’ great fun! Since she grew up with a mother who sang with a big band, she enjoys hearing and singing those amazing tunes from Glen Miller to Natalie Cole and Michael Buble’. Jill is active in Worship Arts at Madison Park Church of God where she sings in Voices of Praise and is the Director/Producer for their annual production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL. This is a full musical theater presentation with a cast of 100 that is a benefit for Dove Harbor, a safe place for women and children in crisis. She feels it’s a true blessing to be actively working beside others in this worship arts ministry. Broadcasting and particularly radio is currently Jill’s main career. She has worked in many areas of radio as an on-air personality, and voice talent on voice overs, commercials and promotions. She is currently the Sales Manager and Marketing Director for WQME 98.7 FM and Covenant Productions. More than anything else in her life, Jill enjoys being with family and friends whenever she gets an opportunity. She has been richly blessed with amazing parents, three beautiful daughters, six adorable grandbabies and a wonderful husband. |
