Don Farrell has been a member of Actors' Equity Association since 1992 and is a veteran of the concert and theatrical stage and has
worked steadily in practically every capacity of the business. He has spent over 24 years working as a professional singer, dancer, actor, director, choreographer, and producer with a career that includes Off-Broadway, International Tour, National Tour, Las Vegas, Regional and Educational productions. As an actor, Don’s credits include: Off Broadway: LAST OF THE RED HOT MAMAS, IRENE, TROUBLE IN TAHITI, DODSWORTH, ROSEMARY CLOONEY, A Musical Tribute; Regional: Over 70 different regional productions including: THE ANDREWS BROTHERS, FOREVER PLAID, A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD, FORBIDDEN BROADWAY, GOOD NEWS!, I LOVE YOU, YOU’RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE!, SWEENEY TODD, PERFECT WEDDING, PLAZA SUITE, ROMANCE/ROMANCE, THE WONDER YEARS, and many others. As an accomplished Director and Choreographer Don has over 30 different directing /choreography production credits including: International Tour: THE TAFFETAS; National Tour: FOREVER PLAID; Off-Broadway: ROSEMARY CLOONEY: A Musical Tribute; Regional: FORBIDDEN BROADWAY, ROUNDING THIRD, A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING, THE TAFFETAS, A TAFFETA CHRISTMAS, the Southeastern and Indiana premieres of BEYOND THE RAINBOW: The Frances Gumm Story, COLE, FOREVER PLAID, I LOVE YOU, YOU’RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE!, MY FAIR LADY, the Georgia and Central Indiana premieres of MY WAY: A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra, the Georgia and Indiana premieres of SISTERS OF SWING: The Story of the Andrews Sisters, AND THE WORLD GOES ‘ROUND: The Music of Kander & Ebb, and TINTYPES. His directing credits include such theatres as: The Frederick Loewe Theatre, 14th Street Y, CAP 21 (Off-Broadway); Springer Opera House, producer (National Tour & International Tour); Pennsylvania Centre Stage, Florida Studio Theatre, Georgia Ensemble Theatre, Hampton Playhouse, Cortland Repertory Theatre, for award winning director Worth Gardner at the Birmingham Theatre, Ordway Theatre, Westchester Broadway Theatre and the Player's Theatre of Columbus. On the concert stage, Don's career began back in 1988 when he was asked to sing John William's “America, the Dream Goes On” at the Democratic National Convention in Atlanta. Since then, he has worked with the late Maestro Erich Kunzel, Keith Lockhart, Jack Everly, Alfred Savia, Crafton Beck, Adrian Gnam, John Morris Russell, and Robert Moody. His active career as a featured guest soloist includes concerts with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Phoenix Symphony Orchestra, Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, Savannah Symphony Orchestra, Winston-Salem Symphony Orchestra, Disney's Premiere Symphony Orchestra, Macon Symphony Orchestra, and the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra. He received his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree, graduating with honors from the internationally acclaimed University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music. He has served as a member of the drama faculty for New York City’s premier musical theatre training conservatory Collaborative Arts Project 21 and teaches drama workshops and master classes for theatre companies and universities. Don is a Founder of Actors Theatre of Indiana and currently serves as its’ Producing Artistic Director. He is co-host of the Indianapolis Visitors Channel, and sits on the Board of the League of Indianapolis’ Professionally Managed Theatres. |
